Our client, a leading accountancy practice, is looking for a full-time Audit & Accounts Senior to join their growing team in Croydon. This is a great opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, where the role is split approximately 70/30 between audit and non-audit assignments. The firm provides bespoke support and advice to ambitious business owners, and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with both corporate and not-for-profit clients, gaining exposure to consultancy and advisory services as well.
Key Responsibilities:
Working as part of a team on larger audits for both corporate and not-for-profit clients
Handling client queries and supervising the work of junior colleagues
Overseeing smaller audits and reporting directly to partners
Preparing financial statements for audit and non-audit clients
Requirements
Skills & Experience Required:
ACA/ACCA Qualified or Part-Qualified
A minimum of 3 years' audit experience in an accountancy practice
Up to date with current auditing and accounting issues, as well as relevant standards, company law, etc.
Strong knowledge of tax, particularly corporation tax, with awareness of VAT and payroll taxes being advantageous
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to think critically to solve problems
Ability to take ownership of issues from start to finish and show initiative
Experience working on a diverse range of clients (FCA experience is beneficial)
Strong computer skills, especially Excel; experience with CCH and Pro-audit is advantageous
Knowledge of Mercia audit methodology is also beneficial
